False Trevally also known as Parava in Malayalam, Neer suthumbu in Tamil is native to the Indian Ocean .It is a coastal species, occurring in marine and brackish waters at depths from 15 to 100 m. It is an important species to local commercial fisheries. This fish has a growing capacity to a maximum known length of 117 cm and a weight of 43.5 kg.
